    622220 - Fencing - Beginners

    Fencing - Beginners (Grades 2-5)

If you’re looking for something new and exciting for your kids, that gets them moving more and in new ways, then check out FENCING! Many parents look for a sport to engage their kids-- something that can grab their imagination, get them excited. And for a lot of kids, football and baseball aren’t doing it. A lot of kids want something more intense, more tactical, and more individual.

Fencing is one of the hottest, fastest-growing sports in the country! It’s the modern sport equivalent of a sword-fight (and who doesn’t love a sword-fight?) It's a thrilling, fast-paced, one-on-one sport, that's often being referred to as PHYSICAL CHESS. It combines quick-thinking skills, coordination, agility, balance, flexibility, strength, and cardiovascular endurance. Kids that fence, not only improve their overall fitness level, but also enhance their self-esteem, confidence, focus, and creative and analytical thinking abilities.

In this fun-filled fencing class, our professional coaches introduce students to essential aspects of fencing: footwork, bladework, etiquette, rules, as well as tactics and strategy needed to succeed on the fencing strip. By the end of the course, kids challenge their classmates to a match, using modern electronic equipment, that senses hits made on target, similar to one used at the World Championships and Olympics. As students learn to fence and enjoy their experience, many will develop a strong connection to this unique sport, begin lifelong friendships, and go on to achieve athletic, academic, and career success.

Classes are held at Columbus Fencing & Fitness' training center, located next to Dublin Village AMC 18 Theaters. Courses are taught by professional fencing coaches, that have National, International, and even Olympic competitive experience. Equipment rental is included.
