Creativity Club - Laughter is the Best Medicine! (Grades 4 and 5)

Do you love to express yourself in creative ways? Then this afterschool club is for you! The theme of this 6-week session explores "Laughter". Did you know that laughing is good for your health? It releases a chemical called serotonin into your brain—a “feel good” hormone. Laughing can help you feel more comfortable with others and more relaxed. Students will have a blast exploring silly art, crafts, drama, games, and creative writing activities that will make them collapse, explode, hoot, double up, and become helpless with laughter!

    *Note: Sense of humor required...

Summer Community Art Camps: Emerald Parkway and Dublin Rd Pedestrian Tunnel Mosaic Art Installation

Become one of Dublin’s public artists this summer! Participants will work side by side with a professional mosaic artist, Eric Cacioppo and Dublin City Schools art teachers in this large-scale community art installation in the Emerald Parkway and Dublin Road tunnel. Our home base will be Indian Run Elementary.

Participants will make clay pieces that will become part of this installation. They will install clay pieces that are being made by students across Dublin in schools, by community organizations, seniors groups, and last summers camp II participants, to create a mosaic that covers over 750 square feet of space. This years installation will also include some larger clay animals and several hundred personal tiles constructed by Dublin students.

Take one or more art camps and sign up as an individual, a family or with friends. This is a citywide collaboration between the Dublin City Schools, the City of Dublin and the Dublin Arts Council. Comfortable clothing, tennis shoes and water bottles are recommended.
